Larson, Mabel Jane (Marriage - 6 June 1953)

Mabel Jane Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Larson of Mondovi, and Wayland Hardwick, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hardwick of Humbird, were married by the Rev. P. C. Danielson in a double ring ceremony at the Drammen Lutheran Church in Mondovi Saturday, June 6.

Iris bouquets decorated the altar as the bride was given in marriage by her father.  She wore a gown fashioned in Chantilly lace over a satin bodice with long sleeves, sheer shoulder line, and a double nylon tulle full skirt extending into a train.  Her fingertip appliquéd veil was held with orange blossoms.  She carried red roses and stephanotis on a prayer book.

Mrs. Owen Haugen, Eau Claire, was her sister’s matron of honor, and Bethedel Hardwick, sister of the groom, was her bridesmaid.  They wore ice blue strapless gowns of nylon net over taffeta with matching stoles and carried colonial bouquets of yellow carnations.  Dale Hardwick of North Dakota was his brother’s best man, and Lawrence Larson, Mondovi, brother of the bride was groomsman. Darrell Hardwick of Humbird and Melvin Larson of Mondovi were ushers.

Harold Losey, of Humbird was soloist, with Mrs. Losey accompanying.

A reception was held at the church parlors and a wedding supper was served at the bride’s parents’ home.

Showers were given by Mrs. Haugen and Miss Hardwick and co-workers at the U. S. Rubber Co., where the bride is employed.

The groom is employed at the National Presto Industries, Inc., at Eau Claire.  They will make their home at 1002 N. Eighth St., Eau Clarie, after returning from a honeymoon trip into Canada.

A wedding dance was given in their honor at the Silver Dome ball room.
